The 8 Best Thai Islands for Relaxing

A relaxing island holiday: who doesn’t yearn for one? Thailand, The Land of Smiles, has 1430 islands. These small paradises are situated either on the east or the west of the mainland. Suppose you don’t care much for chaotic street markets or bustling nightlife. In that case, one of the following off-the-beaten-track and relaxing island destinations might be worth considering when planning your next itinerary:

1. Koh Bulon Lae

Koh Bulon Lae is a small island in the South of Thailand. Found in the waters of the Andaman Sea, it will take you a mere 20 minutes to walk from one end to the other. The coast is lined with palm trees, and the island has only one main swimming beach where you can spend endless days bathing in the sun, marveling at the white sands, or swimming in the crystal-clear blue waters. It is also an excellent place for snorkeling, jungle trekking, and visiting nearby bays.

There is a small fishing village on the island, so it comes as no surprise that the day’s catches will often be served as dinners at the homestays and resorts. Furthermore, the entire island is eco-friendly. Generators, powered by solar panels, are the only suppliers of electricity after dark while there is no electricity during the day.
